In 2008 Mills River Fire
Rescue was inspected by the North Carolina Department Of Insurance
(DOI). Lower classification means property owners in our tax
district will pay less for their insurance. The class ratings go
from 9 down to 1, meaning 9 being the highest insurance premium, and
1 being the lowest.
Many exhaustive hours were spent preparing for the inspection. The
classification measures a fire department's preparedness to respond
to structure fires. A department is inspected in such areas as
training hours, pre-fire plans, staffing levels, mutual aid,
communications and water supply.
We are still waiting to hear the results. |
